Gay bars in eau claire wi

Scooters commenced operations in Eau Claire on the third of January, nineteen ninety-seven, under the proprietorship of Wayne Marek, who also helmed another thriving LGBT establishment a city block distant, Trading Company. This commercial location had previously served as a nocturnal gay bar, initially known as The Back Door (1991-1992), and subsequently as Scruples (1992-1996).

Early promotional materials for 'Scooters' frequently shared advertising space with The Trading Company, in some cases explicitly characterizing Scooters as a related venture.

In December 1997, the bar transitioned to new ownership, Jody & Dave, and advertisements for it ceased any association with Trading Company. The new proprietors orchestrated a grand opening on February 6, 1998, a Friday.

Current information, gathered mid-2022, reveals Jody Kvapil and David Beranek remain partners in this enduring establishment, now celebrating a quarter-century of service to the LGBT community - a distinguished member of the state's eight oldest LGBT bars.
