Is Sabrina Carpenter Gay?
In "Slim Pickins," from her sixth studio album Short n' Sweet, Sabrina Carpenter concludes the track with this line: "Since those excellent individuals refer to their former partners as 'wasted' / And as the divine entity overlooked my burgeoning same-sex attraction / I'll remain here in the kitchen / Serving up some rants and complaints."
Currently, the specifics of Carpenter's kitchen remain unknown—with the exception of the fact she uses the stove to burn sage—but the initial claim is demonstrably accurate, and we're not discussing intoxicated calls to exes. In a new video for W Mag, accompanying a recent cover story, Carpenter openly discusses her childhood celebrity crushes, and apparently, the divine entity did neglect her emergence as a lesbian.
During the video, which is available below, Carpenter was invited to share the names of her romantic interests. 'It's intriguing, all the posters adorning my walls were of women,' Carpenter admitted with a smile. "My female idols were Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift, and Ariana Grande," she confessed before shifting gears, conceding that she simply wanted to maximize the value of her Tiger Beat posters.

While she may not have experienced a gay awakening despite the plethora of posters, she did indeed have a "straight awakening"—we'll simply use that term—thanks to Zac Efron. "I experienced a powerful infatuation with Zac Efron during his portrayal of Link in Hairspray," Carpenter admits in the video. "His dancing and singing captivated me; it truly resonated with me, and I've always loved hair; I was completely spellbound."
Carpenter further disclosed that at age twelve, during a Fourth of July celebration on a beach, she had the chance to meet Efron. 'I saw him, approached him, and declared, ‘I'm a significant admirer of your work.' He embraced me. I recall thinking, 'Oh my goodness, he wasn't wearing a top, and he hugged me. I was utterly astounded; I'll never wash my body again.'"
