Keke Palmer&8217;s Mother Clarifies Usher &8216;Gay&8217; Assertion: &8216;I Fabricated [It] To Ensure Her Security&8217;
The mother of Keke Palmer has clarified her assertion that Usher is &8220;gay,&8221; confessing that the statement was fabricated as a protective measure for her daughter.
Sharon Palmer's claims surfaced during a reported phone conversation with Darius Jackson, her daughter's former partner, which emerged online on Wednesday, November 15th, subsequent to revelations concerning Jackson's alleged mistreatment of Keke.
During the intensely charged discussion, Palmer is audible, reprimanding Jackson for "harassing" her daughter, referring to him as a "dick sucker," and asserting that he suffers from "mental problems."
Furthermore, she refers to the incident that apparently ignited discord between the couple (at least in the public's perception): the widely shared video clip featuring the star of the film Nope dancing alongside Usher during his Las Vegas residency earlier in the year.
"Usher is gay!" she vociferously stated. "You and your idiotic family, you all fail to grasp the concept of business. Usher is gay, everyone."
Following the audio's dissemination across the internet, which subsequently led to Usher becoming a trending topic on social media platforms, Sharon Palmer utilized Instagram to elucidate that her remarks regarding the R&B icon's sexual orientation were untrue, made to safeguard her daughter's "safety."
&8220;The falsehood I conveyed about Usher was intended to compel Darius to cease mistreating my daughter due to his jealousy,&8221; she articulated in a remark posted on The Nieghborhood Talk&8216;s page. &8220;Hence, I stated that he did not prefer women for her SAFETY.
&8220;All other sentiments I expressed with conviction and did not anticipate them being overheard, as recording me is against the law. I suppose he is amenable to incarceration, but I was aware of that possibility when he laid hands on my daughter. He persists in abusing her throughout this ordeal, attempting to portray himself as the aggrieved party. This is textbook behavior.&8221;
Last week, Keke Palmer publicly disclosed her accusations against Darius Jackson, with whom she shares a son named Leodis, aged eight months.
She asserts that Jackson physically assaulted her on multiple occasions throughout their two-year relationship, which concluded in October, and that these incidents sometimes occurred in their son's presence.
In one particular instance following their separation, Palmer contends that Jackson unlawfully entered her residence without her awareness or approval, subsequently "threatening" her before "lunging at my neck, striking me, forcefully throwing me over the couch, and pilfering my phone."
Jackson's established pattern of "physical and psychological abuse" also encompassed "devastating my personal effects, including journals and prescription eyeglasses, scattering my possessions onto the street, discarding my car keys to impede my departure, striking [me] in view of our son, uttering obscenities about me to our son [and] threatening to end his own life with a firearm should I abandon him," according to Palmer's account.
The actress has been granted a temporary protective order against Jackson, alongside exclusive custody of their child. A hearing is slated for early December to ascertain whether the restraining order will be made permanent.
Jackson, who is employed in both the fitness and entertainment sectors, has refuted these accusations and has conversely leveled his own allegations against Keke Palmer's mother, claiming she threatened to shoot him.
