The True Source of Friction Between Joe Bradley and TJ Dinch on Southern Hospitality

Southern Hospitality chronicles the private lives of individuals employed at Leva Bonaparte's Republic Garden & Lounge, situated in Charleston, South Carolina. The third season of the Bravo reality television series commenced with considerable impact, unveiling not only the romantic involvement of Joe Bradley with Maddi Reese, but additionally, the continuous conflict between the former and TJ Dinch.

The feud between Joe and TJ seemingly began in early 2024; the bartender had exposed the VIP-host-turned-manager for having kissed The Real Housewives of New York City alum Luann de Lesseps during their joint appearance on Watch What Happens Live. Allegedly, this hookup was intended to remain a secret between these friends, but TJ ultimately violated their pact.

Nevertheless, there exists another underlying factor contributing to the distance between these two reality personalities. As the season unfolds, viewers are left contemplating if these two will escalate into physical confrontation or discover a means of reconciliation.

What's Fueling the Discord Between Joe Bradley and TJ Dinch in Season 3 of Southern Hospitality?

The very premiere of the Season 3 of Southern Hospitality finds colleagues Joe Bradley and TJ Dinch in disagreement with one another. During a confessional, TJ revealed that there had been no communication with the Republic Garden & Lounge manager ever since their filming of the Season 2 reunion. Specifically at the reunion, TJ criticized Joe for his lack of confirmation regarding his involvement with Luann de Lesseps while Joe was seeing Summer House star Danielle Olivera.

Back in January of 2024, Joe along with Luann made appearances as guests on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. Subsequently, Page Six published an account suggesting a romantic encounter between the two reality figures, with witnesses reporting they were observed being "all over each other" after an evening in New York City following the show.

Luann and Joe both issued denials regarding any involvement. During the SoHo Season 2 reunion event, their alleged hook-up was brought to the forefront once more. "This is the honest truth: Luann and I shared a drink and instantly connected," Joe admitted to the host, Andy Cohen. He continued, "I admit I crossed the line at the hotel, however, I did not kiss her. We did not hook up." Nevertheless, his cast mate, TJ, was overheard whispering, "They did hook up." Following this, he asserted, "Joe, in my opinion, honesty is the best policy."

On the other hand, once Season 3 of SoHo was broadcast, Joe did, in fact, verify that the rumors held some truth. "So, what if Luann and I hooked up?" As a result, although TJ was factually correct, Joe took issue with his close friend revealing such information. Joe was left feeling as though he had been stabbed in the back.

Joe Thinks TJ Circulated Rumors That He Was Gay

There appears to be a separate contributing element as to why Joe has kept his distance from TJ. Viewers learn during Season 3, Episode 2, that the bartender supposedly started a rumor that Joe was, in fact, gay. While in conversation with the newcomer, Austen Stephan, at a fitness center, he states, "Going back three or four years, TJ started many rumors stating that I was gay."

Austen did not seem surprised upon hearing such news, as he, himself, had previously heard similar rumors circulating. TJ "used to express the same exact things to me. He would openly claim that you were gay."

During a confessional, Joe revealed that he had confronted TJ regarding the spreading of the aforementioned rumor. "I questioned him, 'Why the heck would you make such statements to other individuals?' And he responded, 'No, I would never make such a statement. I would never disclose such information to anyone. I assure you I did not do it.'"

"As I happen to be a deeply trusting individual, I took his word for it. I am now suffering the consequences.'

Joe goes on to comment that TJ "leads you to believe that you can place your trust in him, however, in the end, he'll end up stabbing you in the back."

It came to light that the rumor also prompted Maddi to cast doubts on Joe's sexuality, leading her to delay any intimate encounters with him. "Going back three years, virtually everyone was discussing the rumor. Therefore, I obviously leaned toward believing TJ when he described Joe as flirty, or fruity, or some similar descriptor. Gay, perhaps?" Maddi conveyed during a confessional. Yet, with the two now being romantically involved, she has come to learn that the rumors were devoid of truth.

"I've clearly slept with Joe. I do sleep with Joe. He is a fan of p," she declared.

TJ Cautioned Maddi Reese Regarding Joe Being Unfaithful

The season's inauguration also revealed Joe's dissatisfaction with his girlfriend maintaining her friendship with TJ. "It also was somewhat irritating for me, seeing as how you were acting so friendly with him," Joe explains to Maddi in Episode 2. Maddi tells her boyfriend that her connection with TJ shouldn't have any bearing on them due to the fact that they were not an item when TJ disclosed his hookup with Luann (which Maddi later referred to as "iconic").

Maddi hopes for Joe and TJ to set things right, even though they are not confronting "the elephant in the room."

"Friendships can still exist with set boundaries," she tells him. "You're aware that you are unable to entrust [TJ] with your most sensitive secrets. That much is clear. However, there's no valid reason preventing him from being your friend.'

However, Joe perceives the situation in a different light, expressing profound hurt caused by his former closest friend. "The problems between TJ and myself extend to a deeper level."

Republic Garden & Lounge is merely one of Leva Bonaparte's several dining establishments located in Charleston. She and her husband, Lamar, also possess Bourbon N' Bubbles, MESU, as well as Lamar's Sporting Club.

As a matter of fact, TJ seems to be dampening any hope of rebuilding their friendship when he shares with Maddi that Joe has a reputation of being a cheater. During the same episode, while the two are in conversation regarding the feud, TJ declares, "I believe I should inform you that once an individual has a cheating history, they will continue to cheat."

"Maddi, remember he was unfaithful to Danielle, and also Natalie, along with every other relationship he's had. I wouldn't be acting as a true friend if I were to withhold this information," TJ tells her, proceeding to compare him to her former partner, Trevor Stokes, who had been unfaithful to her multiple times. Despite this revelation, Maddi does not think Joe would ever inflict heartbreak upon her.

Southern Hospitality Season 3 broadcasts episodes on a weekly basis, every Thursday at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Bravo.
