Following years of fan conjecture, Emma Watson and Tom Felton have effectively dispelled any assertions that they ever engaged in a romantic relationship.

The ensemble cast of the "Harry Potter" series recently convened for the HBO Max feature, "Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts."

Felton and Watson, who portrayed the characters of Draco Malfoy and Hermione Granger respectively, deliberated on the platonic affection they share, which developed after their initial encounter on the film set.

During the reunion program, Watson reflected on the precise moment her affection for her "Harry Potter" co-star began to blossom. This occurred during a tutorial session on the set of the initial films, a time when the young actors were tasked with sketching their conceptions of what the divine being resembled.

"Tom had sketched a depiction of a young lady sporting a reversed cap while riding a skateboard. And, to be perfectly candid, I found myself utterly smitten with him," Watson stated.

Furthermore, she mentioned her anticipation for days when their filming schedules coincided.

"I used to arrive each day eager to locate his designated number on the call sheet; it was the seventh position," she recounted. "And whenever his number appeared on the call sheet, it signified a day filled with amplified excitement."

Watson elucidated that Felton was an individual with whom she could exhibit "greater susceptibility" whilst on the production site.

Watson's fondness for Felton was not entirely one-sided; he too experienced an immediate sense of "camaraderie" with her.

"Emma and I have perpetually held affections for one another, genuinely," he conveyed. "I recall being in the hair and makeup chair when someone remarked something to the effect of, 'Indeed, she harbored an admiration for you.'"

However, Watson recognized that given Felton's age advantage—he was three years her senior—he perceived her more as a "younger sibling."

"I developed a strong inclination to protect her," Felton added. "Indeed, I have always maintained a soft spot for her, and this sentiment persists to the present day."

Rumors concerning the pair's romantic involvement have been in circulation for an extended duration, possibly exacerbated by Watson's frank admissions about her past infatuation and their enduring close bond.

In anticipation of the inauguration of the primary "Harry Potter" emporium in New York, Felton informed Entertainment Tonight in the year 2021, "We are something, if that conveys any meaning. We've been exceptionally close for a considerable period. I deeply cherish her."
